Strawberry Fields Forever

Strawberry Field era un hogar para niños en un suburbio de Liverpool, cerca de donde vivió su infancia un jovencísimo John Lennon

 Detrás del edifico había una zona boscosa que John apodo "Strawberry Fields", donde paso parte de su infancia.
Los más cercanos a el dicen que este fue el lugar donde se inspiró para ser músico.

 Y es que John veía a los niños jugar tras esas puertas rojizas, y se imaginaba como hubiese sido su infancia si todo fuera así de fácil, ya que apenas conoció a su padre y paso su infancia con su tía "Mimi".

El nombre de la casa se hizo mundialmente famoso cuando en 1967 con el sencillo lanzado por The Beatles "Strawberry FIelds Forever", escrita por Lennon.
Su madre falleció un año mas tarde, haciendo así de este sencillo, una pieza emotiva para el.

Una de las canciones más versionadas del a historia:

Así nació: La canción que todo aspirante a estrella del rock ha tarareado alguna vez es esta pieza “más o menos autobiográfica” que en 1958 lanzó al estrellato a un graduado en maquillaje y peluquería de nombre Chuck Berry. El autor cambió “that little colored boy” (“ese pequeño chico de color”) por “country boy” (“chico de campo”) para llegar a un público más amplio. El nombre de Johnny era un homenaje al pianista Johnnie Johnson, con el que Chuck tocó en numerosas ocasiones durante los 50. En el año 2000, Johnson se querelló sin éxito contra Berry, reclamando que había sido el coautor de muchos de sus temas (incluido éste).

Las mejores lecturas: Keith Richards dijo: “Fue la primera canción de rock que escuché en mi vida”. Es lógico, por eso, que se introdujera en el repertorio de muchos grandes del género, desde los Beatles (fantástica lectura en las sesiones de la BBC) a Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley, Grateful Dead, Al Kooper, los Stones, Hendrix o nuestros Burning. Johnny Halliday también la hizo suya en francés, como Johnny, reviens!

Visiones insólitas:  Algunos de los chicos más pastoriles de las praderas americanas quisieron ganar pedigrí con esta canción, caso de los Carpenters o John Denver. Los aspavientos de estos angelotes por parecer rockeros aguerridos resultaban un tanto patéticos. Incluso el por entonces ídolo de jovencitas Leif Garrett grabó (1977) este himno.

LLegó el día , el pasado 17 de Octubre, en el que salía a la venta el primer disco en solitario de Noel Gallagher, para muchos el disco más esperado desde que los hermanos de Manchester comenzaron a pisar los escenarios.

Ya lo advirtió "Si te gusta lo que hago te encontrarás sorpresas, pero si no te gusta lo que hago, me odiarás aún mas"

El NGHFB es un disco muy personal, donde la mayoría de los temas pueden sonar parecido, y donde faltan temas rockeros y que te hagan saltar de la silla, aunque conociendo su trayectoria sabemos que siempre le han gustado más los temas de guitarra acústica, conciertos en teatros y canciones más personales.
No obstante es un disco para disfrutar con canciones que se te pegarán desde la primera escucha

NME publica las 10 peleas mas famosas de los hermanos de Manchester, siendo la última la causa de la ruptura de Oasis

Ríos de tinta han hecho falta para contar todos los exabruptos, declaraciones y anécdotas violentas de los hermanos Gallagher durante su convivencia en Oasis. Ahora cada uno ha echado a volar en solitario: el que fuera cantante, Liam, con su nueva banda de rock and roll Beady Eye; y Noel, el guitarrista, debuta en solitario el 17 de octubre con la publicación de Noel Gallagher's high flying birds (el 26 de noviembre lo presentará en directo en Madrid). Estos son algunos de sus episodios más violentos, recogidos de la extensa lista publicada por el semanario inglés NME.

 

- 1994: Durante la primera gira por América de Oasis, Liam decidió cambiar las letras de algunas canciones en directo porque resultaban ofensivas para los estadounidenses. Ya en el camerino, Noel y Liam se pelaron por este motivo, una silla voló por los aires y Noel abandonó la gira a mitad.

- 1995: Mientras Oasis grababan su segundo álbum, What’s the story (Morning glory), Liam invitó a todos sus colegas del bar para que subieran al estudio de grabación, mientras Noel estaba intentando trabajar. Noel acabó golpeando a Liam en la cabeza con un palo de cricket.

- 1996: Liam pasó de actuar en un MTV Unplugged minutos antes de que comenzara. Noel no quiso abandonar y decidió ofrecer sólo el concierto. Liam se sentó entre el público con una cerveza y no paró de criticar a su hermano entre canción y canción.

- 2000: Oasis canceló un concierto de Barcelona porque el batería, Alan White, se había dañado el brazo. El alcohol hizo que esa noche Liam cuestionara si Noel era realmente el padre de su hija Anais, a lo que Noel respondió dándole un puñetazo y reventándole el labio. 

- 2002: Liam decidió abandonar el escenario de un concierto de Oasis en Japón excusándose en sus problemas de garganta. “Liam se lleva quejando durante toda la gira”, soltó Noel ante el público. “Yo le he preguntado: '¿Vas a estar callado todo el puto año o vas a seguir quejándote como un hijo de puta?'. Primero me ha mirado, después ha tirado la pandereta al suelo, como una mujer, y finalmente se ha ido”, relató Noel micrófono en mano.

- 2002: En diciembre, Liam golpeó a un oficial de policía en el pecho durante una pelea en un hotel de Múnich (Alemania). El cantante de Oasis acabó con varios dientes rotos y multitud de heridas por el rostro. Noel dijo después: “Lo único que me preocupa es cuándo podrá cantar de nuevo. Sólo me interesa su voz”.

- 2005: Noel se dio cuenta de que podía manipular a su hermano: “He adquirido un tipo de conocimiento mediante el cual, en vez de discutir con él y terminar en una pelea, trabajo en su psicología. Ahora Liam me tiene miedo”.

- 2008: “Liam declaró a la revista NME: ‘Soy mejor cantante que Noel. Yo soy el hombre, hombre de los dos”.

- 2009: Así fue la última gran pelea entre los hermanísimos: “Hubo un poco de kung-fu. Liam me arrojó una ciruela y luego me amenazó con una guitarra como si fuera un hacha", contó este mismo verano el guitarrista del grupo. “Podría haberme desfigurado el rostro, pero entonces sí lo hubiera hecho añicos”, añadió.

- 2009: Noel dejó la banda oficialmente el 28 de agosto de 2009, y escribió en su página web: “Con cierta tristeza, pero también un gran alivio, os comunico que ayer por la noche abandoné Oasis. La gente escribirá y dirá lo que quiera, pero no podía seguir trabajando con Liam ni un día más... Pido disculpas a todas las personas que compraron entradas para los conciertos en París, Constanza y Milán”.

Noel estuvo en BBC radio 2 conduciendo el show presentando temas y respondiendo preguntas. Su participacion duro casi 3 horas.

Santi Balmes, de Love of Lesbian, canta con Mojinos Escozíos

El líder de Love of Lesbian es una de las estrellas invitadas en Mená Chatruá, el último disco de Mojinos Escozíos, que acaba de salir a la venta. El Sevilla, líder de los irreverentes rockeros, ha facturado un álbum lleno de versátiles dúos que interpretan los clásicos de la banda.
La canción compartida con el de Love of Lesbian es El arrebañamechero, una historia del típico amigo de lo ajeno que siempre se apropia de todo mechero que encuentra por ahí. Santi interviene en el minuto dos, con una entonación mucho más macarra de lo que nos tiene acostumbrados. Miqui Puig también participa en la interpretación de la canción
"El tema de robar mecheros me toca la fibra. Soy un puto ladrón. Puedo llegar a casa con 8 ó 9 mecheros que no son míos en el bolsillo. Como un Gas Natural andante", cuenta el vocalista de Love of Lesbian.

Cañonazo de Love of Lesbian el próximo 13 de septiembre. El grupo catalán publicará entonces la reedición de su disco 1999 con material extra variado: dos dvd, dos documentales inéditos, nueve vídeos oficiales y todos los temas del disco original. Ya podemos ver el avance de una de las películas, titulada también 1999. En el tráiler, de algo más de dos minutos de duración, la banda hace el gamberro en el camerino, vemos el proceso de grabación de sus vídeos y escuchamos la voz sincera de Santi Balmes. "El estribillo de Allí donde solíamos gritar lo saqué con doce años", explica el músico.

Hoy Freddie Mercury cumpliría 65 años

 

Hoy, 5 de septiembre de 2011, Freddie Mercury, cantante y líder de Queen, habría cumplido 65 años de no haber muerto el 24 de noviembre de 1991, en Londres, victima del virus del sida. Hoy también habrá muchos recordatorios, como por ejemplo el vídeo que ha realizado Google como homenaje y que está arransando en la red :

Freddie, nacido en Tanzania hace 65 años, cuando todavía se llamana Farrokh Bulsara, ingresó en el St. Peter's School, en la India, cerca de Bombai. Allí, además de estudiar, participó en varias obras de teatro interpretando papeles femeninos. También interpretó en algunos espectáculos y festivales canciones como O sole mio. Gracias a las notas y apuntes de aquel estricto colegio donde estuvo interno se sabe que el pequeño Freddie era buen boxeador, un cantante, pianista excelente y un buen jugador de pin pong.
En ese colegio tuvo su primera banda, Hectics, donde Freddie tocaba el piano
Al llegar a Inglaterra empezó a trabajar en una fábrica de cajas. Cuando sus compañeros de trabajo se burlaban de él porque tenía manos de chica él respondía que iba a ser artista.
Era muy buen dibujante y caricaturista. En sus primeros dibujos se pueden ver estrellas de cine como Elizabeth Taylor o Cary Grant y cantantes como Elvis Presley o Paul McCartney. 

 

El mote que le pusieron por sus maneras y gestos, fue Queen( Reina )

Freddie tomó el apellido Mercury del verso “Mother Mercury”, incluido en la letra de una canción que él mismo compuso, My fairy king, incluida en su primer disco.

Freddie era el mejor organizador de fiestas. La juerga de su 39 cumpleaños en Munich, Alemania, que duró tres semanas quedó grabada en vídeo. El aquella fiesta el reto era ir disfrazado de alguien a quien admirases: Freddie se vistió de él mismo.

Freddie reunió en su casa de Londres a Queen para decirle que tenía sida. Sólo su familia sabe dónde está enterrado. “Sé perfectamente dónde quiero que me enterréis”, les dijo antes de morir, en 1991, “pero que no lo sepa nadie más. Quiero descansar en paz".

Foo Fighters promocionan su nueva gira con un divertido video

 

Foo Fighters van sobrados de sentido del humor. Es por algo que veteranos del gremio, como Lemmy de Motörhead, llaman al líder del grupo, Dave Grohl (Ohio, 42 años), “the nicest guy in rock" (el tipo más simpático del rock). La nueva broma de los rockeros llega en forma de vídeo, Hot buns (Nalgas Calientes, en español), y lo han hecho para promocionar la gira por Estados Unidos con su último álbum, Wasting light, que comenzará el próximo 13 de septiembre. En él los miembros de la banda aparecen en una estación de servicio disfrazados de camioneros, suena Body language de Queen, y comienzan a desnudarse y ducharse todos juntos. En plan festejo homosexual. Se ven azotes, culos y todo tipo de juegos eróticos entre ellos, y como no, las pastillas de jabón. Las pelucas y las botas de cowboy no se las quitan. El único que no ha querido desnudarse para la ocasión es el guitarrista del grupo, Pat Smear (hace de limpiador sorprendido en el vídeo).
